Cathy Merz Insurance, Inc. is a locally owned independent insurance agency serving businesses and individuals in Oregon and Washington. Our mission is to assist our clients with access to affordable insurance that meets their needs—with special emphasis on prompt and continued customer service. Cathy lives in Portland, Oregon and maintains her Life and Health Licenses in Oregon and Washington. She is also licensed in the state of Idaho. Cathy is certified to sell Long Term Care and Medicare under various company appointments.

She is a member of both the National Association of Health Underwriters along with both the Portland Chapter and Tri County Washington chapters. This membership along with continuing educations helps keep her up to date on the changing world of insurance.

Group Health Insurance Account Manager - Oregon

Elizabeth has lived in the Pacific Northwest all her life and now calls Portland home where she is excited to start a career in the ever-changing insurance industry. She is licensed in both Oregon and Washington!  She joined Cathy Merz Insurance, Inc. in October of 2014. Ina Wilborn

Group Health Insurance Account Manager - Washington

Ina has lived in the Pacific Northwest her entire life, except for her college years spent in Southern California.  Her love of Oregon drew her back after college and she has lived here since.  She joined Cathy Merz Insurance, Inc. in November and will be working to get licensed in both Oregon and Washington. Ina graduated from Whittier College in 1996 and started out with a career in Human Resources.  After a few years in the work force, Ina and her husband started a family and Ina chose to stay home with her three small children until 2013. Amanda Walbridge

Individual Health Insurance Account Manager

Born and raised in Forest Grove, Amanda has been an Oregonian all her life. She joined our team in August of 2017 as the Individual Health Insurance Account Manager. She will be handling the new enrollment of individual clients, Medicare clients, and their needs throughout the year. She is a valuable add to our team here at CMI and brings a lot of customer service knowledge with her from her previous jobs. Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University in Portland in 2015, and worked for First Tech Federal Credit union before joining our team here. Full Bio

Lindy Bartels

Administrative Manager

About Lindy

Lindy joined the team in 2016 and handles our renewals, enrollments and office administration. Previously she worked for Sony Corporation as a Logistics Manager and Trade Show Coordinator. She then took time off to raise her two teenage girls and is glad to be back in the work force. She is originally from Iowa but has lived on the West Coast most of her adult life. Living in Oregon for the last 10 years she has a love of hiking, sports and music as well as attending her girls many activities.

Donna M. Carlson, RHU

Donna Carlson is retired and enjoying traveling with her husband, Ron. In 1993, after an insurance career with Kaiser Permanente Northwest, Donna founded Donna M. Carlson Insurance.  She focused on building her business with personal touch and attention to detail. In 2010, she sold her business to Cathy Merz.  At the time of her retirement, Donna was licensed to sell insurance in Oregon, Washington and Arizona.  She also held the distinguished  Registered Health Underwriter (RHU).  The RHU program gives insurance professionals the broad knowledge and skills necessary to provide comprehensive health financing and disability income services to their clients.
